STOP THE PRESS!! Well, maybe it's not worthy of stopping the press, but we had our first home-going talk today. Emery is going to get a G-tube soon. Dr. A came by today, and he said he took the liberty of turning Emery down to 1 liter and then observing him for a bit. He did fine. Tomorrow, they are planning on going down on his flow to 1.5 liters as long as his gases are okay. I mean, the kid toots all day long and has 3 to 4 bowel movements a day. His gas is fine lol! Seriously, though, he's been doing pretty well from a respiratory standpoint. So, this is where Erik and I need help. It's time to get the house ready. Emery is going to be coming home to our house before we move. Anyone who wants to help, we need to clean it (carpets and all), pack stuff up and get the place roomy for him. We aren't having a baby shower until the end of September, and there will only be one at the LifeCenter for all family and friends, so no we are not having a shower before we come home. We still aren't getting overly excited yet because a lot has to be done and Emery has to cooperate, but man is it ever close. Also, does anyone know anyone at Quad City Lab Rescue? We still haven't gotten rid of Chloe. It sounds so harsh but we really don't want to euthanize her. If any of you know of anyone who wants a lab, let us know. She is aggressive around children (which is in part why we need to get rid of her, and to minimize allergens for Emery) but she's a good dog. All of you who have met her know how sweet she is. She's extremely over-protective of me and gets nervous around children. Pass the word out and see if anyone is interested in taking her. So, let's hope the next few weeks go well. We'll be meeting with GI this week to talk about the feeding tube, and once that's in place and he's comfortable it's time to come home, baby! Yeah! Also, I had talked to a few people about this, but if anyone is interested in having a caravan back from IC to the QC, let me know. I'm too nervous to drive him home. Oh, and an interesting note. We think Emery is teething. He's chewing on everything, drooling, and fussing slightly. For the most part he is acting like a normal baby and he's had a great weekend, but he just seems to be chewing, fussing, and a little feverish (not anything needing Tylenol, but just warm). Some of the nurses felt it might be teething. He's a little young, but who knows. This is Emery, master of confusion. Oh, and he weighs 13 pounds 1 oz. He is sooooo chunky. I'm posting some bath pics so you can get an idea of his 'tubbiness' ha ha.
